Trevor and I wanted to thank you both for making our stay in Ilfracombe so wonderful. It was great to come back and see some friendly faces and familiar places (and find some new ones too). As always, you couldn't have looked after us better. Laston House is our favourite hotel in the UK in every aspect (location, friendliness, service and of course, the excellent food). Thank you both once again, we had a fabulous holiday. We won't leave it so long next time.

Just had 4 lovely relaxing nights at Laston House .The staff were very very friendly and helpfull .the hotel is situated perfectly and the food is gorgeous.Will be going back , strongly recommend.

“Fantastic Hotel”

I am 13 and I have visited this hotel a few times. They have a really good breakfast which my brother really enjoys and the hosts are really nice too. They have a computer which my Dad can check his emails on witout a big fuss. I would like to eat at the hotel but apparenly its quite expensive for all four of us to eat. Theres a really nice cobble beach in ilfracombe and there is a great beach to surf at in Woolacombe which is nly a short drive away. I was quite upset when it rained alot on our holiday, there are some attractions to visit when it rains but as we have been before they get a bit boring. When we visited there were some people staying at the hotel with dogs and they dogs barked alot when they saw us. I suppose its good that thery let dogs stay but only if they are well behaved. They have a mini bar whch is really good but I thought It was a little bit too expensive but the things in there were nice. I also liked the shops in Ilfracombe especailly the surf shop, but they have better ones in Woolacombe. Overall this hotel is really good and I think we will stay there again.

We stayed at Laston House Hotel last weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The owners are very friendly and could not have been more helpful. We arrived late from London but that was that was not a problem and we were made to feel very welcome. The breakfasts were excellent. In terms of location the Hotel feels away from the town and is quiet yet it is only a very pleasant five minutes walk through the quay into the town.
Ilfracombe itself is really nice, for food I would definitely recommend the tapas bar in town. In the daytime I would say it is worthwhile doing the walk from Ilfracombe to Combe Martin as the views and scenery are excellent. You can get a bus back from Combe Martin to right outside the hotel.

Expectations were set upon the prompt receipt of a welcome letter through the post having booked indirectly online. We enjoyed a one night stay in the Nursery suite with our two boys. We were made very welcome from our arrival & were looked after by the owners & staff until we left. They made our boys feel very welcome, even as boisterous as boys can be. Double room overlooked the sea & gardens & was spacious, with a great ensuite & the longest bath I have seen. The boys had their own tv with video (range of videos available from Reception, including loads of Disney to choose from). Large spacious rooms away from the town but within walking distance. A fantastic cooked breakfast was enjoyed by all in the morning. Oh and fresh milk is provided in your fridge for your coffee or tea. I'm typing this review on the free wireless internet provided by the hotel before we leave & looking forward to having more time to come back. Would strongly recommend the Laston as a hotel providing home from home hospitality in a beautiful part of North Devon.
